Food item thrown by protester supposedly shattered and created condiment mark on immigration officer, trial told

Law enforcement engaging with individuals on public avenue
An individual, who was later arrested for supposedly striking law enforcement with a sandwich, engages with Border Patrol and government officials.

A American border officer has testified he could detect through his body armor the force of a food product launched at him by a capital city activist, who has stood before a judge for assault.

Immigration and customs agent the officer informed the court panel the snack "exploded all over him" and he "noticed the onions and yellow sauce" on his official attire.

Both legal teams contests that the defendant, thirty-seven, did in fact hurl vulgar language and a prepared food item at law enforcement sent by the former president to secure the nation's capital in August.

The incident was recorded on camera and spread across the internet, making the accused a symbol of protest in the capital to the former president.

Government prosecutors originally tried to achieve major offense allegations against the accused, but a grand jury declined to indict him.

The administration's deployment of armed forces to the federal district this warmer months caused protest from some of the local inhabitants, who considered it a partisan deployment of the military.

Per court papers, the accused walked up to a group of officers at about 11 PM on August 10, describing them "extremists" and yelling: "Why are you here? Your presence is unwanted in my city!"

The trial saw a demonstration from Mr Lairmore on the trial day as he gave evidence against the defendant.

"I could feel it through my ballistic vest," he stated of the food's collision, noting that an onion string remained from his official equipment and condiment marked his clothing.

The defendant's attorney, Julia Gatto, stated in her court presentation that throwing the deli product was a "harmless gesture that did not, could not, create physical damage".

But government attorney the prosecutor maintained the accused must be held accountable.

"Regardless of identity, you should not launching items at individuals because you're upset," the prosecutor said.

Subsequent to the reported incident was revealed, the accused was fired from his employment as a law firm employee in the federal legal agency.
