From the very beginning of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master the talented storyteller has kept fans guessing with extensive world-building, a colorful mix of personalities, and a thrilling plot featuring divine entities, evil spirits, and dark forces expanding in strength within Dol-Makjar.
Warning: Key plot points for the latest installment of this adventure lie ahead.
The Warrior Group Unveiled
Episode 3 finished on a dramatic pause and introduced the initial group of characters who will branch out from the central cast to undertake their own adventure, apart from the other two tables.
The Soldiers table consists of the determined fighter (brought to life by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (the talented performer), Tyranny (the cast member), Wicander Halovar (Sam), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie).
The Reason for Division
Given an extensive roster, it was clear from the beginning that keeping everyone at one table would be impossible.
That’s why, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Introduction, intertwining the individual narratives before dividing into three distinct groups: Warriors, Strategists, and Seekers.
What Defines the Soldiers Table
As described by the Dungeon Master, the Soldiers table is for adventurers who prefer a classically intense fight-heavy gameplay experience where non-violent answers are rare.
Initially, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander might appear unsuited, but the developments of episode 3 demonstrate why these specific adventurers are best suited for the warrior group.
Motivations for Departure
First, the team understands precisely where to head next after a brutal first encounter with the enemy group.
Casimir of Thjazi Fang—whose passing initiated the campaign’s events—exploited the foes for his personal gain, breaking into Thjazi’s hideout, assaulting Thimble, and taking all the enchanted items to sell off.
Casimir then paid off his debts and ran away to a secure base in the northern region, above the city, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.
Character Drivers
Secondly, each character has a specific drive to leave the city Dol-Makjar:
- The agile hero, as the companion and trusted friend, wants vengeance.
- Kattigan has experience in the northern area and warns that it is a nasty environment.
- The warrior and The healer, having resisted his relatives’ demands to execute Teor and instead rescued him, have no safe haven.
- Yet, their position as prominent individuals in House Halovar could enable the group reach areas they normally couldn’t.
- Moreover, The fighter swore a eternal obligation to The cleric for his deliverance and will now go with him wherever.
Pursued by Authorities
Finally, all of them are hunted by the powers that rule the city for a variety of reasons, making remaining behind too risky:
- The rogue and The character are recognized lawbreakers.
- The strong figure and The cleric betrayed the powerful family and the horde of evil beings they are allied with.
- The fighter is targeted for elimination by the family.
This leaves them no alternative but to journey toward the remote area in quest for Casimir.
